FAQs

1

What kind of counselling do you offer?

I work in an integrative style drawing from various therapy approaches according to the needs of the client.

I offer a first appointment for assessment and formulation followed by ongoing sessions that usually take place weekly or two-weekly initially. The number of sessions that will benefit a client depends on the extent of the work. A lot can be achieved in a few sessions where goals are clearly defined.

2

How do I get started?

On booking a session you will be invited to complete an Intake Form. This enables me to conduct an initial review to determine whether the request meets the scope of this practice. If your request meets the scope, I will then send you a contract to sign before we start working together. If your request does not meet the scope, you will receive notification and a refund in full.

Completion of an Intake Form is necessary for assessment and safety purposes. The information you provide in the Intake Form and on the DocuSign Contract are held confidentially and used only for safety, clinical and legal purposes.

3

What makes you different?

I combine an intuitive, transpersonal approach with clear communication and a reliable presence.

4

How can I contact you?

You can reach me anytime via the contact page or email. I aim to respond quickly, and within one business day.

5

What online meeting platform do you use?

I use Google Meet, a secure and easy-to-use platform that allows us to meet online from the comfort of your own space. You don’t need to download any special software, just click the meeting link I will send you before your session time and join through your browser or the free Google Meet app.

Google Meet is:

  • Confidential and secure: All sessions are protected with end-to-end encryption.

  • Convenient: Join from your home or anywhere you have a quiet, private space.

  • Accessible: Works on laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

  • A simple setup: You will receive a link via email, just click to enter the virtual session room.

Before your appointment, please check that your internet connection, camera, and microphone are working. If you’re new to online sessions, I’m happy to do a quick test call to ensure everything runs smoothly.

6

Can I arrange a face to face meeting with you?

It may be possible to arrange a face to face meeting. Enquiries can be made by email using the contact form. Meetings will take place at The Tree of Life Centre, Colne Valley, Beth Shalom, 78 New Street, Milnsbridge, Huddersfield, HD3 4LD

What is your professional background?

I have twelve years’ experience and have accreditation. With a background in Transpersonal Psychology and Consciousness Studies, I integrate the benefits of psychology and spirituality to support personal growth.

In addition to counselling, I have facilitated wellbeing courses, helped to co-ordinate a counselling service, developed peer support initiatives and taught counselling skills to trainee counsellors.

A transpersonal approach to counselling goes beyond traditional talking therapies, integrating the spiritual, transcendent, and holistic dimensions of human experience with psychological healing. Transpersonal approaches view the person as a whole being, encompassing mind, body, emotion, and spirit. They can help you to access higher states of consciousness, explore personal growth, and connect with your essential or true self for profound self-realisation. Benefits include a sense of greater wholeness and purpose, effective integration of spiritual experiences, enhanced self-awareness, and tools to foster lasting transformation.

What does Transpersonal mean?

Many people now use AI‑based apps or chat tools for reflection, emotional support, or simply to feel accompanied between sessions. If this is part of your life, it’s welcome in our work together.

These tools can be helpful in some ways, and they also have limits. They don’t build a relationship with you over time, they can’t hold a duty of care, and they may not recognise when you’re in distress. They sometimes sound confident even when they’re mistaken, and anything you share with them may be stored or used in ways that sit outside our confidentiality agreement.

My role is different. The care I offer is grounded in professional training, ethical responsibility, and a relationship that develops between us. I remain fully responsible for the decisions I make in our work.

If AI tools are part of your support system, you’re warmly invited to bring that into our conversations. Together we can explore how they’re affecting you, what they offer, and where their limits might be. This is an open invitation, not a judgement.
