Terms and Conditions
This agreement outlines the expectations and responsibilities that ensure a safe, ethical, and transparent therapeutic relationship.
1. How sessions work
• Sessions last the agreed duration and begin at the scheduled time.
• If you arrive late, the session will still end at the original time.
2. Cancellations and rescheduling
• If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give at least 48 hours’ notice.
• Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are chargeable in full.
3. Fees and payment
• Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.
• Any changes to fees will be communicated in advance (fees are revised annually).
4. Confidentiality
• What you share in sessions is treated with respect and confidentiality.
• There are rare exceptions where I may need to share information to keep you or others safe, or where required by law. These will always be explained wherever possible.
5. Your wellbeing between sessions
• I’m not able to offer crisis or emergency support outside scheduled sessions.
• If you’re in immediate distress or feel unsafe, please contact appropriate emergency or crisis services, and/or someone you trust who can offer immediate support.
6. Boundaries and communication
• Email contact between sessions is for practical matters such as scheduling.
• Therapeutic work happens within the session space.
7. Ending or pausing therapy
• You’re free to end or pause therapy at any time.
• A planned ending or review session can help us reflect on your process and support a thoughtful transition.
8. Accessibility and adjustments
• If you have access needs or preferences that would help you engage more fully, please let me know so we can explore what’s possible.
9. Development of materials and use of digital tools
Some written, visual, or reflective materials shared through this practice — including cards, prompts, and other resources — may be developed with the support of digital tools, such as artificial intelligence. All materials are carefully curated, edited, and informed by my professional judgment, training, and experience. Responsibility for how they are used rests with the user.
I sometimes use digital tools, including artificial intelligence, to think through my work in a more methodical and comprehensive way and to develop general session materials. I do not enter any client-identifiable information, personal data, or session-specific details into these tools, and nothing from my practice is used to train such systems.
Session materials are intended as supportive or reflective resources and do not replace counselling, clinical judgement, or therapeutic work within sessions.
