Safeguarding and Risk
Safeguarding the wellbeing of clients is taken seriously within this practice. Counselling is offered within clear professional and ethical boundaries, in line with UK safeguarding expectations and relevant professional standards.
Counselling sessions are not an emergency service. If you are experiencing immediate risk to yourself or others, or are in crisis, this service is not appropriate. In such circumstances, you should contact your doctor, local emergency services, or a relevant crisis support organisation.
If, during counselling, concerns arise regarding serious risk of harm to you or to others, safeguarding action may be necessary. This could include encouraging you to seek additional support or, in exceptional circumstances, sharing relevant information with appropriate services. Wherever possible, this would be discussed with you first.
This service is not suitable for individuals who require intensive, crisis, or emergency mental health support. Suitability for counselling is assessed on an ongoing basis, and referral to other services may be recommended where this is in your best interests.
If you are unsure whether this service is appropriate for your needs, you are encouraged to seek advice from your GP or another qualified health professional.
