Quality and Safety
Your safety and the quality of the support you receive are my top priorities. I want you to feel confident that the counselling I provide is professional, ethical, and focused on your needs. This page gives an overview of how I maintain safe, effective practice. For more detail, you can visit the linked pages below.
Boundaries of Contact
Contact is limited to booked sessions and agreed methods (email or phone).
Counselling is not offered via social media or casual messaging.
Clear boundaries help keep our work safe, focused, and effective.
For full details on session arrangements, see my Terms and Conditions.
Confidentiality and Its Limits
Everything discussed in sessions is private.
Exceptions are very rare and include:
If someone is at serious risk of harm.
If there are safeguarding concerns.
If required by law, such as threats to life, terrorism, money laundering, or other serious offences.
I will always explain these situations before taking any action.
For more information on safeguarding procedures, see my Safeguarding page.
Record Keeping
Client records are kept securely and in line with GDPR and professional guidance.
Records include only what is necessary to provide safe and effective care.
For full details on how your data is handled, see my Privacy Policy.
Complaints Process
If something doesn’t feel right, please raise it with me as soon as possible.
All concerns are handled confidentially and taken seriously.
If we can’t resolve the issue together, you also have the right to contact ACC or the BACP.
Ending Therapy
Ending therapy is something we usually plan together.
We will review your progress, discuss any next steps, and make sure you feel prepared to continue your personal work.
You are always welcome to return for further support in the future.
Continuous Improvement
I reflect on my practice regularly, engage in supervision, and continue professional development.
This ensures the support I offer stays safe, effective, and responsive to your needs.
